Ethiopian highlands

Origin 01

ETHIOPIA

Where arabica begins.

Ethiopia is the botanical home of arabica and one of the most diverse coffee origins in the world. Thousands of local varieties grow across highland regions, many of them on smallholder plots of a few hectares.

That diversity is why Ethiopian coffees can taste so different from one another — and why we started here.

Guji

High altitudes and long ripening. Naturals from Guji often show intense fruit with a clean, structured sweetness.

Yirgacheffe

Known for delicacy: floral aromatics, citrus and tea-like clarity, with a light and elegant body.

Sidama

Wide varietal diversity across many small farms, producing cups from soft stone fruit to deep berry.

What shapes the cup

Variety
Ethiopian heirloom landraces carry aromatic potential that cultivated varieties rarely reach.
Terroir
Soil and climate influence acidity, sweetness and how flavours develop in the cherry.
Altitude
Higher elevations slow ripening, concentrating sugars and building complexity.
Processing
Natural, washed or experimental processing shapes body, sweetness and fruit expression.
